A Night in the Country

Episode #14 of the Nevada Magazine radio show features an interview with Tiffani Creedon, A Night in the Country Music Festival director. The annual Yerington event began in 2002 and now draws thousands of country music fans to Northern Nevada. This year's event happens July 26-27 and benefits the Boys and Girls Clubs of Mason Valley.

2013 performers include the Eli Young Band, Billy Currington, JT Hodges, Casey James, Randy Houser, and Due West. Creedon expects a crowd of 8,000 both nights this year. Tickets are available at the A Night in the Country website or by calling 775-463-2334.

Episode #13 of the Nevada Magazine radio show features separate interviews with Reno Bighorns owner Herb Santos Jr. and Reno Aces director of marketing Brett McGinness. In the show's first segment, Santos Jr. talks about the Bighorns basketball team's remaining schedule and how fans can get 150 complimentary tickets (while supplies last) by calling 775-284-2622 or visiting the Bighorns' Facebook page and mentioning "Nevada Magazine."

In the show's second segment, McGinness talks about the Aces baseball team's upcoming 2013 home schedule and how fans can get complimentary tickets (13 pairs; while supplies last) to either the April 2 exhibition game versus the Nevada Wolf Pack or the April 12 home opener by calling 775-334-7000 and mentioning "Nevada Magazine."

Big Brothers Big Sisters


Episode #12 of the Nevada Magazine radio show features an interview with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada CEO Ann Silver. Nevada Magazine publisher Janet Geary talks about her past experience as a Big Sister, and the discussion covers how the program works and how the community can get involved and offer their support.

In the beginning of the show, Geary talks to co-host Eddie Floyd about a new Historical Calendar book that Nevada Magazine plans to publish later this year.

All Seasons—1,000 Reasons

Episode #11 of the Nevada Magazine radio show features an interview with Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority CEO and President Chris Baum. Baum and his team have set out to create new marketing campaigns and a corresponding slogan that work for the Reno/Lake Tahoe area.

We interviewed Baum in our March/April 2013 issue about the RSCVA’s new direction, marketing campaigns, and slogan “All Seasons—1,000 Reasons.” We continue that conversation in this radio interview from March 8, 2013.

Lincoln Highway

Episode #10 of the Nevada Magazine radio show features an interview with Andy Rossman, from Eureka tourism, who talks about the Lincoln Highway centennial celebration taking place in June. Members of the 100th-Anniversary Tour will stop in Eureka on June 25, 2013 and tour the historic Eureka Opera House, as well as other town attractions.

The Lincoln Highway in Nevada is the cover story of Nevada Magazine's March/April 2013 issue. Travelers can still drive on original sections of the fabled road, which was dedicated in 1913.
