Community Safety & American Indian Day
Episode #39 of the Nevada Magazine radio show features respective interviews with Chelsie Hill, star of Sundance Channel's "Push Girls," and Arlan D. Melendez, Reno-Sparks Indian Colony chairman.
In the show's first half-hour, Nevada Magazine Circulation Manager Carrie Roussel interviews Hill about the unfortunate accident that left her paralyzed in high school. She was in Reno for the CIG Insurance Community Safety event, September 28, talking about the dangers of drunk and distracted driving. Chelsie is joined by her father, Jon Hill, co-founder of the Hills' Walk and Roll Foundation. Also in studio is Brad Dennis from the KlaasKids Foundation.
In the show's second half-hour, Melendez discusses American Indian Day, which was held September 27. He also elaborates on Reno-Sparks Indian Colony's National Indian Week, along with Stacey Montooth. Listen to the show below.

Highway 50 Journeys
Episode #38 of the Nevada Magazine radio show features respective interviews with Richard Moreno, author and former publisher of Nevada Magazine, and Jeffrey Lehmann, host of the "Weekend Explorer" television series.
In the show's first half-hour, Nevada Magazine Editor Matthew B. Brown interviews Moreno about his recent trip across U.S. Highway 50, known as The Loneliest Road in America. Moreno is working on an article for Westways magazine, documenting his geological tour of the route, which will be published sometime next year.
In the show's second half-hour, Lehmann also talks about a recent trip across Highway 50. It was a familiarization tour hosted by the Nevada Commission on Tourism.

Ghost Towns & Tuscarora

In the show's first segment, before interviewing Wilkinson, Nevada Magazine publisher Janet Geary informs listeners about Genoa's annual Candy Dance Arts and Crafts Faire. Wilkinson begins by discussing Beatty Days, October 25-27, the southwestern Nevada town's major annual event.
