Willy Vlautin & James Lee Reeves


Episode #50 of the Nevada Magazine radio show features respective interviews with Willy Vlautin, Reno native and author, and James Lee Reeves, a Northern Nevada musician known for his album, "I'll Take Nevada."

In the first half-hour, Vlautin discusses his novel, The Motel Life, which was recently made into a movie. Read more about that here. Also, read a Q&A with Vlautin from the November/December 2008 issue of Nevada Magazine, here. He also talks about his other novels, including the newest, titled The Free. He is also a member of the Richmond Fontaine band.

In the second half-hour, Reeves performs his Nevada songs, including his new tunes "Nevada Magazine" and "We've Been Everywhere (in Nevada)." Listen to the show below.

A Night in the Country

Episode #14 of the Nevada Magazine radio show features an interview with Tiffani Creedon, A Night in the Country Music Festival director. The annual Yerington event began in 2002 and now draws thousands of country music fans to Northern Nevada. This year's event happens July 26-27 and benefits the Boys and Girls Clubs of Mason Valley.

2013 performers include the Eli Young Band, Billy Currington, JT Hodges, Casey James, Randy Houser, and Due West. Creedon expects a crowd of 8,000 both nights this year. Tickets are available at the A Night in the Country website or by calling 775-463-2334.
